Erica Law showed her promise as a gymnast at a very young age. Not only did she make the varsity team in 2002 as a 7th grader, she also earned a spot on the Section 6 Team and the opportunity to compete at the State Championships. This proved to be no fluke as Erica earned a spot on the Section 6 State Championship Team again in 2003, 2005 2006 and 2007.
Erica trained year ‘round at Stumpf’s Gymnastics Center and competed as a Level 9 Gymnast for one year and a Level 10 gymnast for five years under the USA Gymnastics Program. She was just 11 years old when she competed in her first Empire State Games, in which, her Western Region Team captured the bronze medal. Erica was also a member of the 2003, 2004 and 2006 gold medal winning teams from the Western region at the Empire State Games. While competing at the games, Erica placed 6th in the floor exercise in 2003, 4thin the floor exercise in 2004 and 9th in the All-Around Competition in 2006. She also competed frequently at the state and regional level. At the State Championships in 2002, Erica won 6th place on the balance beam, 5th place in the floor exercise and 8th place on the vault. Erica’s highest achievement as a gymnast came when she was invited to compete at the Level 10 Junior Olympic Regional Championships in 2003, 2005 and 2006.
Erica not only excelled in gymnastics while at Maryvale, she also excelled in the classroom. Her efforts academically enabled her to graduate ranked 20th in her class as a member of the National Honor Society and receive a Presidential Scholarship from Hilbert College. Erica went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Hilbert with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science. She is currently working as a Death Investigator for the Erie County Department of Health and resides in North Buffalo with her husband Brian.
