During Julia’s four years in high school before graduating in 2018, Carter helped to turn the Maryvale Volleyball Girls Volleyball from its 3-14 run in 2014, to three 17-win campaigns. Carter started playing on Maryvale’s modified team in 7th grade and was moved up to varsity as a freshman. Starting her freshman year, she was a starter, while playing multiple positions for the team during her career at Maryvale. She also played club volleyball for Niagara Frontier from 2013-2018. Carter was on the All-WNY honorable mention list in 2015 and earned a 1st team All-WNY selection in 2016 and 2017. Carter also earned 1st team All-ECIC in 2016 and 2017 and second team in 2015. As well as a fourth team All-State selection in 2017 and third in 2016. Carter was a three-time co-captain of the Maryvale Girls Varsity Volleyball Team. In 2017 she was a USA Volleyball A2 National Team Selection. While at Maryvale she was also a four-year scholar athlete, 2017 NYS Scholar Athlete and the president of National Honor Society in 2017-2018. She was also a member of the music program for her entire high school career, playing the cello for the orchestra and earning first chair her senior year.
After graduating Carter continued her Indoor volleyball career at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. Carter was a four-year starter for the University. While there she helped her team win two Southland Conference Tournament Championships in 2020 and 2021. She also helped her team to win the regular season Southland Conference title in 2021. Carter and the Islanders competed in the NCAA National Volleyball Tournament in 2020 and 2021. Carter also competed as a Division 1 Beach Volleyball athlete in 2019 and 2020 for the University. She earned second team all-academic team for the Southland Conference in 2021. During her time at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi, she also participated in the Universities orchestra, playing the cello for the school in 2019-2021. She was a member of the Sigma Alpha Lota Music Fraternity from 2019-2020 and held the position of secretary in the chapter until its close in 2021. Carter earned her Bachelors of the Arts in Psychology from the University in 2022, with a 4.0 GPA.
After completing her four years at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi, Carter used her fifth year of eligibility and transferred to Middle Tennessee State University and started her masters degree. While playing for the Blue Raiders she helped the team to their first winning season since 2013. Carter recently returned to Corpus Christi, Texas and began her career as a full-time Collegiate Assistant Coach with Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. While holding this position she will complete her Masters in Business Administration.
